A New Approach to Deliver the Help You Need
After 18 years of practicing law in California and Arizona, I was driven to create the first Mobile Law Center in the United States, focusing on Consumer Protection, bankruptcy, asset protection, wills & trusts, and other essential areas of law.
This drive stems from the fact that most people equate the term lawyer or legal assistance with Expensive Hourly Fees and Costs; Unpredictability of Total Cost and Outcome; Intimidation and Confusion about the Legal Issues and Processes; Stress and Anxiety of Litigation; and the Impersonal and/or Unprofessional Treatment with past legal issues.
As a result, countless individuals ignore or avoid legal confrontations that lead to such things as default judgments from debt collectors, property liens, incorrect and harmful errors on credit reports that cause higher interest rates or a decline on loans or employment, or being stuck with a defective automobile, appliance or other expensive good or service."
In short, The Mobile Law Center was created to alleviate the high cost and mystery of obtaining high-quality and professional legal services to enforce your legal rights, protect your assets, and obtain the best outcome possible.
Towards this end, we offer extremely low consulting rates starting at $45 for 20 minutes, and low flat fees on a variety of legal services. Moreover, you get to decide if you want full representation or you want to represent yourself but desire the benefit of a lawyer with 18 years of experience and/or document preparation by a certified and licensed paralegal.
Lastly, it’s our goal to be accessible, inviting, and provide outstanding and prompt services with the highest level of professionalism. This may be self-evident from the selection of the Airstream and the careful attention to detail to create just the right environment inside The Mobile Law Center, to the level of detail in our intake forms to the use of Skype and other modes of communication.
The Mobile Law Center Team is confident this will be the best legal trip you’ve ever taken. Please come along for the ride…

Meet Your Driver
Stephen M. Stern, Esq
Truth be told, I ran from the law...
Surrounded by an army of family lawyers in California, Arizona and New York, I rebelled and opted for undercover journalism. I became editor and chief of the university newspaper and published in local, national and international newspapers and magazines - that is, until I encountered the First Amendment and freedom of speech and press. After completing a master's degree in education with an emphasis in communications, I found my way to law school. The First Amendment flame continued to flicker through my law review note on the rights of undercover news reporting. In the summers of law school, I clerked for judges and helped write the centennial histories of Flagstaff and Northern Arizona University -- two places near and dear to my own history.
In 1998, I hung my lawyer shingle in Flagstaff, where I focused on debt collection cases and business law, and served as a contract attorney for the Coconino County Attorney's Office. I also taught a business law class at Northern Arizona University, which I have continued to do part-time since 2003 at Cal Poly University - San Luis Obispo. After relocating to Shell Beach in 2002 and passing the California State Bar, I hung another shingle in San Luis Obispo. The Stephen Stern Law Firm focused on debtor's rights, bankruptcy, wills & trusts, business and trademarks. I found helping people in need was more rewarding than helping wealthy people become wealthier, and the Consumer Help Lawyer website was launched. This included obtaining certification as an official student loan lawyer, and focusing more specifically on consumer protection laws. The development of the Mobile Law Office is the outgrowth of Consumer Help Lawyer.
Our team is intent to deliver affordable and accessible legal services from a legal team that is both highly experienced and professional. My experience stems from approximately 18 years as a practicing attorney, handling more than five thousand cases in two states, and attending hundreds of hours of legal continuing education seminars and programs to stay current in the legal areas in which I provide counsel. The same holds true of Paralegal Rebecca Lilley, who is not only a certified professional, but also a former police officer and investigator.
Truth be told, I now drive the law...to you!
When I'm not on the road, I will likely be found on a stand-up paddle board in Avila Beach or Morro Bay; or on a bike, trail, or at a concert, festival or in a foreign country adventuring about…but always Mobile!
